Gertrude Adwoa Ohene-Asienim (FICS) Chiarman of the Membership Committee, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London and Maritime Consultant for Whitestone Shipbrokers participates in Blue Careers and Business Expo 2021. She was part of the Panelist for day two of the conference which discussed the issue of Gender Diversity – Gender Mainstreaming in Ghana’s Maritime Sector.

Among the Panelist were Syvlia Asana Dauda, President, Women in Maritime in West and Central Africa (WIMOWCA), Esther Gyebi-Donkor, Women in Shipping Trade Association (WISTA) Ghana and Rekia Larteykai-Torgbor Founder and Executive Director- Centre for Maritime Training and Development for Younger Women- CMTD-YW

The conference was held on 9th and 10th November 2021 which had the Guest of Honour to be H.E Kati Csaba, High Commissioner of Canada to Ghana.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Kofi Mbiah, with goodwill messages from Hon. Kathleen Quartey Ayensu, AU Commissioner, Special Rapporteur for Piracy and Maritime Security, Mr. Tukur, Programme officer, Maritime Security and Safety, Economic Community of West Africa States, ECOWAS and Rear Admiral Issah Yakubu, Chief of the Naval Staff, Ghana Navy.

The event was organised by Gulf of Guinea Maritime Institute – GOGMI and WISTA Ghana with the theme “Building a Robust Blue Economy Leaving no one behind.”
